The Typofiles #34: Absolut NYC Posters

I fell in love with the stunning typography on this Absolut Vodka advertisement that was pasted up around New York City a few weeks ago. I like how the type forms the shape of the bottle; it’s simple yet effective. You can view all of The Typofiles scans on Flickr here.

Oh so pretty! Absolut rarely get it wrong. We had an exhibition here recently where some Irish illustrators, designers and street artists made Absolut posters, some were really gorgeous.

I love this! (very Nubby!) Their agency is Chiat/Day NYC….I just met with their ECD Mark Figliulo who is super cool. You’d love it there.

Yeah! I was reading the new Wired magazine last night and saw the white background version of this, I thought to myself Nubby would like this!!! haha.
I am also thinking of designing my wedding invitations along the same lines…I love everything about this ad.
Do you have any idea what fonts were used or would they be custom fonts?
Thanks!
Tricia

alex/galaxiegirl: Thanks for the information about their agency, I will be sure to check them out!
tricia: The white version was pasted up too, but the black pops a bit more. And this layout would be amazing for a wedding invitation! To me, the type looks to be hand done; too organic to be a typeface. But I could be wrong.

Thank You!!! I don’t know if you have any recommendations for me on the wedding invitation front(or previous posts)- I don’t have a large budget, but any ideas for printers or ways/steps to get this accomplished would be great!

Nubby,
I’ve just seen this posted on ffffound, I created this ad but I’ve never had the opportunity to see it anywhere as I live in the UK.
Do you have any hi res pictures of this that you could send me?…
Yours hopefully
