Hi Nubby … totally unrelated question, but you are the expert in MiuMiu bags(!), so …

I just bought one off Trademe (NZ version of Ebay) and it was sold as “authentic”, had a receipt from Barneys New York (in which the code for it and the year, price etc checked out from what I could find on the internet). The stitching is great, beautiful leather, everything looks right. However … there is no “code” that I can find anywhere, and I just wondered if you knew if all MiuMiu bags have one? I’m guessing they do, in which case I’ve just bought a lovely fake, but if not, then maybe I got really lucky and got a real one for a pretty reasonable price. Either way, it’s a very big, beautiful leather bag for cheap! Look forward to your answer. Karen

Jules: Fantastic selections, thanks for sharing!

Carson Shold: You’re welcome, it’s a great one!

Karen: I could be mistaken but I don’t recall any of mine having a serial number on the inside. My big black one has a small tag on the inside of the inner pocket that says ‘Made in Turkey’ and there is another small tag under that with a three digit number. As far as I know, Miu Miu doesn’t have a serial number setup like you’d find with LV. etc.

Hi Nubby … oh that’s interesting. Maybe I did get lucky then after all. I do love it either way, but would prefer it not to be fake obviously, not only because it would be nice if it were real, but more because I don’t really want to be supporting the counterfeit trade. Have a great weekend.
