Seriously, didn’t Jane’s shoe wall have you drooling?

Also LOVE the 10 human mysteries. And the fact that “teenagers” are on the list.

I would absolutely turn down a client, work is important but sticking to my guns is more so. Thanks for the link through to the article… interesting to see what other people think on the subject of ethics in business.

I love the article on spec work.

I’m no graphic designer, but I design clothes and occasionally get e-mails along the lines of, “I am going to an event and have asked 10 designers to custom design a dress for me so that I can pick the one I like best. I can’t pay anyone, but you will receive exposure if I choose to wear your dress.” It’s pretty insulting that someone finds my time/talents so worthless, they think I will spend 9823734 hours custom designing a free outfit with no compensation or guarantee that anything will even come of it. :-(

I have also seen people take advantage of their fans’ good will by getting them to work for free making banners for them and whatnot. I think making your fans compete to see who can give you the best gift seems a bit arrogant and shameless. Have some respect for yourself and others, pal! Invest some time and money into your project, don’t just sniff around for free hand-outs.

I think I wouldn’t work for someone who had I had ethical qualms with. If they are exploiting people, or using child labour- I 100% refuse to shop/work/eat there products.

If the people demand change, companies must give us what we want to stay in business.
