lovvveeee this. i have an issue at work where i need to get a little more hard-ass and on the ball – good ideas are not enough, i need to keep on people and show some authority. scary, but necessary!

Amen! I know that my intellectual brain is bigger than my creative brain, but I also know that I can use the former to optimize the latter. This is an awesome quote.

  3. unfortunately i feel like i have it the other way around. i know what i need to do, but i find it hard to do the initial creative work. this is probably the main thing holding me back as a designer.

I would add to that, if you want a lifelong career to have a plan too. A specific short-term, to more general long term plan. Design is a very broad field and it’s easy to become pigeon-holed or find one’s self lost amongst the great, unwashed pixel pushers.
