What I Wore: 8.3.09

Let me just say that moving into a house built in 1927 is a ton of work. My brother and I finally conquered the dining room on Friday night, painting walls matte white and ripping out old carpet. I spent an hour on my hands and knees yanking staples out of the floor. Glamorous, no? It was all worth it though; the room looks completely different and more importantly, livable!
I just got this vintage Scala top and I love it! It reminds of both Liza and MJ. I’m officially obsessed with sequins.
Scala sequined top, thrifted
Jeans, Tripp NYC
Headband, Forever 21
Watch, Nixon
Heels, Diana Broussard

Great shoes!
A little off topic, but the crosses this designer makes reminded me of you: http://hautemacabre.com/2009/08/antti-asplund/

I’m obsessed with sequins too
I have a black sequined top, a sequined bag and two sequined bras! For my hooping costumes ^_^ … but I need more.

You, the house, and that top are all pretty fab.

You & your haus look amazing.
You should do a video tour of it.

Nubby! Those Diana Broussard shoes of yours are my favorites! I love the color, the shape, the heel, everything about them!
I just wanted to thank you for all the awesome content about typography, media and logo design you have here! My sister and I are starting our own company and these resources have really helped us with designing our own identity (we are hiring a designer for the logo and other complicated stuff). Thank you so much!

Ack! Colour me inspired! I wonder what my landlord would say if I ripped up all my carpet. Doubt there are wooden floor boards.
All that hard work has clearly paid off, it looks fan-bloody-tastic.

Mlle Baudelaire: Thanks for that link….I’ve always wondered who made those. So amazing.
Kirsten Blair: Aww, thanks. Will you be at the art show on Friday?
Gala: Only parts of it are amazing at the moment…so no video tour yet! But I got my ‘dressing room’ finished today…gotta take photos and show you!
Julie: You’re more than welcome, thanks for reading!
Lisa Ann: Dollar store shampoo and Garnier Nutrisse conditioner. Haha, I’m on a budget at the moment! I don’t wash it every day and that helps it not be so damaged. My hair is fairly straight so I just let it mostly air dry and then blow dry it for a few minutes.
Beatrix: We were lucky that the wood floors underneath were in great shape. You never know what you’ll find under ugly early 90s beige carpet!

Wow – dollar store shampoo?! That’s a neat trick
So, what do you think of that soap?

You’re the only person I know who can wear white nail varnish and not have it look like tippex.

You are my new ultimate style icon.
Sequins look extremely good on you.

I always love seeing you in sequins… love the space-age glow of the shoes! Congrats on the new house!

I am endlessly enamored of those shoes.

Oh so sparkly!
Makes me want to whip out my silver sequin dress and parade around town with it, but it weighs a tonne!

I love your bookcase arranged by colour and the gorgeous platform heels! You have such great taste in shoes.

Oh! How lucky that there were beautiful hardwood floors under the carpet! When we pulled up our carpet, the floors were in such disrepair, we ended up laying bamboo instead.

Love your killer outfit and that last pose looks very pin-up like. Very cute
Also I adore that drawing of Jimi Hendrix!

I have such a love/hate thing with your fashion. you always know how to pull it off, even when it’s something i don’t like. And then when you break out the stuff I dig, you knock it out of the park. Like today!

I love the all black outfit in the white room! And I love the outfit in general, but you would have to be mad not to.
