What a Week! You see that smile? That’s how I’m feeling right now. I’ve been beyond busy (in a good way!) with meetings and appointments every single day this week and it feels great to get out into the world, to make new friends, to see the insides of companies I’ve always wanted to work with and to be excited about all of the client work I’m doing. Life is good.

That Sweater. Right before the elections last November, I went up to the mountains to visit my Grandma & Grandpa (they literally live on 10 acres of land in the forest). My Grandma was wearing this sweater and I fell in love. She showed up a few weeks ago and gave it to me. It’s now one of my favorite pieces of clothing, stains and all!

Silver. I can’t get enough of it.

Cocaine? Yesterday, I was walking to the post office and this sign caught me off guard. Pretttty funny.

Sequins. Shiny and sparkly and magical. I want to wear this blazer every single day now; too bad it’s been so hot here in Portland.

How was your week?

  1. I can feel your joy! I’ve had one of those amazing weeks too, where I just want to hug every single person that has helped to make it so wonderful. It bodes well for the week ahead and all the projects in it.
I’m loving sequins right now too, and that happy mug is just too fab!

I think you may be the only person alive (other than your precious grandma of course) who could rock that sweater in a totally amazing and unironic way, haha. and aren’t handmedowns from incredible people the best? the stains just add character. :)

Would love to see a post from you about how you stay organized. Do you use a mobile device like a blackberry or ipod touch or do you strictly keep notes in your moleskins? Do you have seperate planners from journals or a place to keep your thoughts? I could use some inspiration for how to keep my life more sane. Thanks!

That sweater is pretty awesome. Mass produce it and make a fortune!

And that sign is great. Do you think someone is playing a joke, or someone made a mistake? Or that they actually have cocaine for sale?

  5. Gala says:

Oooooooooooooh you in that sequinned blazer & me in my sequinned hoodie, what a pair we are going to make. We should move to Las Vegas, become lizard people & wear those EVERY DAY.

  6. Nubby says:

ML: Thanks because I’m so not into that ironic stuff! I try to keep it real…even in acid washed jeans. Haha.

Sean: I think it’s a joke…they’ve had funny stuff up there before but never so blatant!

Smokey: Nice paint job. Carpet Carl would be proud.

Auntie Nubs: You know it! Your old stomping grounds!

Gala: YES. Lizard people are so awesome…except for that grumpy lizard man that said we cut in front of him in line at Blogworld. Haha. We need sequined swimsuits for laying by the pool so we can get even more lizard-y.

  7. Krissy says:

That Americana sweater is all sorts of fantastic! I love that it’s both super fashionable but that it will have a special meaning to you since it came from your grandma. :)

  8. Shauna says:

Apparently the Smoke shack sells ice cream too, maybe the cocaine is an alternative to sprinkles :p!

Woo sequins! I have recently been liking sequins more and more and have been on the look out for some sequined clothing, nothing as of yet, but yours looks great and really suits you x

  9. Nubby says:

Rachel: I’m pretty sure I got it at a big Chinese superstore in Soho while in New York last year. I’m forgetting the name of the store for some reason…

  10. joy says:

Cocaine is a horrifically named energy drink I’ve seen out east for a while. I mean, the name makes it sound so unappetizing. Mmm, a delicious narcotic snack.
