What I Wore: 6.12.09

Happy Friday! I decided to have some fun and dress up even though my night consists of nothing more than listening to Journey while I continue packing up my office. I still remember when I bought these Michael Kors Firebird wedges back in 2004. They were my first pair ‘designer shoes’ and I remember taking a deep breath as I handed over my credit card, thinking that $180.00 was a lot of money for a pair of shoes. It was a lot to spend for a full time college student, but I had to have them! They turned out to be a sound investment. Since then, they’ve graced my business cards, blog header and more art pieces than I can recall.

Mouse ears, Disneyland
Glasses, Oscar + Fitch
Zipper dress and tee, H&M
Leggings and bow belt, Forever 21
Helvetica necklace, Star
Wedges, Michael Kors
Bag, Miu Miu

  1. Wow $150 sounds like a bargain to me. I’d have to fork out close to $700 for a pair of his shoes here! Mind you though, they appear to have been worth every penny.
    Love the belt too.

jillian: It is from more than a year ago. I think it was a knock-off of a style by Moschino.

super kawaii mama: Shoes were priced a lot differently five years ago. It seems like $500.00 was the maximum threshhold where now it’s $1000.00, even $1200.00! Though these are from his main runway line, they are some sort of foam on the soles and just a little patent leather so I think that’s part of the price difference.

LoveMiuMiu: I packed away the tags but I’m pretty sure it is called the ‘Goddess’ and was from Fall 2006 or so.

Amazing how our ideas of “expensive” change over the years, isn’t it? Especially when it comes to quality, covetable shoes!

I believe that people publish this outifits pots searching for feedback, expecting this feedback always to be positive. And I know I ma sound as a bitch, but my feedback is no positive or my appear to not to be.

I think there is way too much going on. It’s either th belt, or the necklace, or the Mickey Mouse ears. Hope you go for the glasses. The dress and that belt definetly don’t go together. ou have an awesome figure and you totallly cut it in four pieces.

I say this with love coz I think you are awesome!

AnyLii: You can’t make everyone happy and as long as I’m comfortable stepping out in what I’ve picked out, that’s all that matters. Clothing should be celebrated and viewed as art.
