The Typofiles #21: Megan Fox in Elle

The U.S. edition of Elle never disappoints. Their art direction is probably the best that I’ve ever seen in a mainstream fashion magazine and this month’s Megan Fox spread was perfectly executed. The opening page with the stark and repetitive type treatment is downright amazing.
As always, you can view all of The Typofiles scans on Flickr here.

I’m lovin’ this! I agree US Elle has great art direction for a mainstream fashion magazine, I wish US Vogue could take a hint.

You just don’t see things like that in too many magazines these days. Speaking of crazy, on point typography, check out this dude

Some pretty envelope pushing stuff, at least from my vantage point as a lay-typographer-ist…haha

so how would they make something like this? make a path based off the left side of the “O” and then repeat it in that pattern? probably in illustrator? i really like it, and i’ve been trying to figure out the best way to do intricate repeating patterns like this. !!! (great site by the way, thanks for all the tips!)
