Haha! Oh man, thanks for addressing my concerns about scarves! I recently bought 3 different ones and am more than confused as how to wear them without looking like a total dorkface. I guess draping it around your neck just works. I am pleased.
I should try it with a tank, that’s probably better than a blouse.
With that said, I love this combo! I dig your watch.

melissa dominic: I felt the same way also! There’s so many different ways to wear these scarves. I didn’t get mine twisted quite right in the photos, but you get the idea….I’ve seen these also worn more bandana-style around the neck.

I love how new accessories can instantly revitalize old clothes. It’s like STYLE MAGIC.

I am a big scarf person. I think I own more scarves than actual clothing. It’s great because it can totally change an entire outfit. I live in Montreal, and we UNFORTUNATELY do not have Forever21. Total Bummer, they’ve got great stuff.
Anyhoot, cute find Nubby!

I love scarves too, but am always nervous about wearing them in this way due to the political connotations… :/

Samantha: I wouldn’t consider the one I have to be a kiffeyeh since it has funky little geometric patterns and is more fashion-inspired. I guess some people could think that there’s a resemblance though.

I recalled that controversy on the scarf trend when celebrities were spotted wearing the kiffeyeh. Dunkin Donuts’ ad got canceled because Rachel Ray was wearing a scarf that resembled the kiffeyeh. I think yours doesn’t resemble the prayer scarf as much though. Love your shoes BTW!

Being someone who is of middle eastern origin I feel it is my obligation to educate a little on this matter.. Nubby’s scarf is nowhere near being a keffiyeh, and most importantly the keffiyeh is NOT a prayer scarf. It holds a political meaning, not a religious one. Although wikipedia is not a reliable source, it paints a pretty clear picture of what the keffiyeh is all about.
