The Week in Pictures: 5.29.09

Rediscovering Red. I go through stages where red just feels way too bright and obnoxious and I drape on multiple layers of gray, white and black instead. But it’s been a long week and I need some optimism in my life, so red is back in full force!

Call Me. Ahhh, I love the 80s. I am well aware that I don’t have a land line, but who could pass up this beauty?! If Gala and I were shacked up in the Virgo Boarding House right now, I could imagine her conducting business calls on this.

Cute Portland Bars. The Matchbox Lounge made my heart pitter-patter last night when I spotted this couch. Adorable.

Chai Addict. I drink an obscene amount of chai. It’s better than drinking a pot of coffee!

Custom Type. I could work on type-related stuff all day (and sometimes, I do). The projects that I’ve been working on over the last week have been overwhelmingly cool and you’ll see the results soon!

Jacksons Jacket. By now you’ve probably noticed my undying love for Michael Jackson. Well, my friends Leticia & Joel just gifted me with this little black satin Jacksons World Tour jacket circa 1984!!! Can you believe it?! I sort of thought that by slipping it on, I’d suddenly have magical powers and be able to moonwalk across the living room, but it hasn’t worked so far. :/
How was your week?

i am anxiously awaiting teaching art and crafts to youngsters this summer again, i have one more week left until then!
I love popping red into a wardrobe, though, strangely, it’s never been one of my favourite colours. I want to incorporate more teal into my monochrome, because I love teal so much. But I don’t wanna spend any more money, siigh. I’ll have to see what I can find on the cheap ;D

Those are some seriously good friends … and a deeply awesome jacket!

I have been lusting after a marshmallow couch for years and now I have the chance to touch one in person! I pass by the Matchbox Lounge frequently with no reason to go in, but now I definitely do! I hope I don’t get tagged for loitering, because it will be hard for me to leave!

perhaps you’ve already seen it. i imagine your google reader is filled with more typography/design blogs than mine.
i’m venturing out to the NW, your hood to be exact, and i’m looking forward to checking out this lounge and a few other places you’ve mentioned. that and the waffles you always rave about.

Oh gorgeous! Love your pictures. Which camera do you use?
I love typography too. Do you make fonts?
I like tea too. I used to be a coffee buff once.

Dude I would conduct MAD BUSINESS on that phone. Almost worth getting a landline for…

Crissy: Go caress it! Sit on it! It’s way too awesome in red to just pass by…
Timmy: My brother found it at a vintage boutique for me.
Angela: Thanks for the link, I hadn’t seen that one yet. And sadly, the waffle place closed down a few months back.
Freya: Nikon Coolpix P80. It’s awesome and I highly recommend it!

So glad to have found your blog! I love your photos! The red stiletto phone looked familiar… I think my older cousin had one of those in the 80s.
Check out my blog sometime too.

Hehe, I like more soothing teas like chamomile & whatever fruity stuff I get from Europe. Oh, even some toasty genmaicha green tea.
That IS a cute couch.

If you pursue the perfection, you would have to perform the bright custom classification essay. However, if don’t know the best way to do it, the writing services would definitely support you.
