The Week in Pictures: 5.8.09

Watch out internet, I’ve just discovered another black and white photo booth in Portland! Walk to the far corner of Backspace and you will find one, waiting to record your magical moments for three bucks.

As my brother and I were out on an extended adventure, we came across this strange Warhol piece. DISSED!

Do you ever have that feeling when you walk into certain stores where your heart starts to beat a little faster and you’re completely overtaken by the astounding selection of merchandise? Oblation Papers had that effect on me, especially when I stumbled upon this massive pencil. And yes, it actually works!

Oh, and these airmail envelopes were also way too good to pass up!

Last night was First Thursday and I stopped by the Wieden + Kennedy Global Agency Art Show featuring the work of over 100 of their employees from around the world. It was pretty amazing to see the variety that included screen prints, photos, paintings, illustrations and more. It was too crowded to get any pictures of the art, but definitely check it out during the month of May.

I also paid a visit to Diesel and am totally smitten with their super cool store lighting. It doesn’t get any better than this.
This week felt like a total roller coaster (can we just blame everything on Mercury Retrograde?) but I’ve learned to embrace change much better this year; it’s what makes you feel alive!

Melanie: It’s from Hot Topic and has a skull on the front. I can’t find a name on the bottle!

Crap, did Mercury go retrograde again? No wonder the world is wonky.

My week has been interesting. I decided to go vegan. I’ve gotten a lot of support but also so negative comments too. I don’t know why people care so much about what food I choose to put in my body.

This week has been fab. I love my new job (working with jewellery), and my own jewellery line is selling better. I got a silver purse. And a rainbow belt. Good times all around.
