Through my various blogging efforts, I have met a variety of people, all of who have been amazing in various ways.

The most changing one, however, was when I struck up comment conversation with a wonderful girl on an gaming LJ community back in November. We talked, and talked, and talked, and then we decided she should come visit me in January… And five days after meeting, we kissed, and it was never any question since then. I love her.

Sadly (?!) she lives in Paris, and I in Stockholm. We cannot see each other as often as we’d like, but we will find a way.

Sometimes, I cannot believe how grateful I am for blogs; for their existence to bring me to her.

My answer: For me, it’s been the friendships I’ve made over the years (with many starting back on Live Journal) including Star, Gala, Jazzi, Bianca and more. Blogs give us a glimpse into other people’s lives, to experience little bits of the way they live and to get to know them even though they may live on the other side of the world…

After blogging, I’ve been more aware, more observational and more opinionated hehe. I read more and interpret more.

Blogging begs us to come up with new and original material. It makes us just, think!

It gave me a life.

After being laid-off and moving to a new town I took to the blogging realm.

Two months later..

New friends, tons of opportunities and a 20lb box of yams.

I have hope now.

I have to answer this question right away Nubby! Couldn’t even wait til I got online and am typing from my iPhone ok!!

For years I’ve been trying to figure out what the hell I’m meant to do. I didn’t finish college and that had been a guilty conscience hanging out on my shoulders for years. I have always wanted to be a writer but thought I had to give it up. Then I started blogging for kicks and to make my friends laugh and realized I fucking love it! All I wanna do is make people laugh and talk about the things I obsess over and this is it! Now all I gotta do is make it my source of income and Ill be happy!
:)

I’m reading so much and learning every day. I’m writing and I’m constantly meeting new people.
Blogging has given me more confidence.
And it lead me to discover Etsy.
And now I’ve quit my job, my last day is in 3 weeks time. Yay!

-Without posting ambiguous messages to each other via our Livejournals, my first boyfriend and I would never have gotten together.

-Having somewhere to share images inspired my first obsessions with self-portraiture and narrative photography. I would steal my mom’s (now ancient) digital camera and sit in my room for hours, playing dress-up and taking pictures.

-It has allowed me glimpses into the life/work of other female entrepreneurs, without which I doubt I would be so inspired and motivated to live a creative, self-determined life.

-In the beginning, Livejournal (also deadjournal, ujournal, blogspot, I think I had one of everything back in the day!) was very much like therapy. I would write very personal entries in addition to sharing art, and when all was said and done, I deleted all my old Livejournals in an act of emotional cleansing.

Miss Destructo: You are a true poster girl for the benefits of blogging.

Marie: I never knew that! Finishing school doesn’t equal success anyway. Writers will be writers no matter what so I’m glad you’re doing what you love. And with that, the money will eventually follow!

Leigh: Agreed.

Ms Constantine: Congrats! I just checked out your blog and saw your resignation letter. Heehee.

adroitly: That’s awesome and way better than saying you met him in a bar.

Molly B: Wow, so many of us got our blogging start on Live Journal! And at that time, it seemed like most of the blogs were more like online diaries about everyday life.

I have always been a writer. I took a few Creative Writing and English classes in uni, but one never really thought it would lead to much. So to get the urge to write out of my system, I started a blog. Blogging has allowed me to be more open with myself, and more comfortable with my own writing. I used my blog as part of my portfolio for my interview with the Journalism dept at school, and that really looked good to the prof. I love blogging! I don’t know why I didn’t start sooner :)

Blogging keeps me accountable, engaged, current, inspired, creative, and gives my brain a major workout. I work my ass off! But I love that, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

My blog is still a baby, just three moths old. It’s the most fun I’ve ever had in a ‘job’. I can’t wait to see how I can make it grow!

I have a food blog, and so I’m constantly cooking and learning all the time. I’ve tried recipes I never thought I would and got over many irrational food dislikes and picked up so many new skills. I’ve met heaps of amazingly talented people and I like to think my photography skills have improved somewhat too! I would like to bring graphic design into my blogging a little more too and combine my two great loves.

I’ve found that blogging motivates me to be more creative and productive.
It has also makes me realize that I have learnt a lot already in my profession. It’s not always easy to notice when the knowledge builds up over time but writing about it makes it more obvious.

P.S. I think I might need to start using a more obscure nickname since I got confused when I went to make a comment and there was already one by Emma at the top

Besides meeting some of the funniest, smartest writers around, blogging has become a great outlet. Talking with like minded people about fun stuff and sometimes challenging personal things is what makes it worthwhile.

The people that I talk with through my blog and through Twitter are open, honest and giving. The great thing is I can connect with them no matter where I go in the world.

When I was younger, I had a few online journals I would write about people I was in love with with cheesy titles from song lyrics and lists of things I loves and a few cool pictures. It seemed I would never write when anything interesting happened though. The site I used aboutmylife.net crashed and still isn’t back up! I only want to go on to print the journal of my old friend dollparts, her story inspired me.

Now I just have strange dreams about famous bloggers that help me out in real life.

It has taught me to only do what makes you happy. I recently spent alot of money (which im struggling to pay off) in a personal training course. I also got kicked out of my mums house and moved into my boyfriends, and my whole life got shook around alot. I then got a job I loved, but after a few weeks of struggling and feeling crap, I realised I wasnt ready to run a business and i needed to get some experience first. I decided to delay my franchise for 6 months, and am now looking for a boring, reliable job. Hopefully in retail since I cannot deny my creative juices.

It taught me to think about what excites me AT THIS MOMENT. I know that in six months, i will be back in love with health and fitness, but at the moment, I am over it. Completely.

It’s about what fills me with GLEE!!!

Blogging has changed my life because i feel like it’s the perfect way to get out how you feel and have somewhere to write down anything that come’s to mind, while still getting some feedback.

It’s also a great way to see how different people express themselves through all the stuff that life throws us, it’s like privacy in public.

i love it!

That is a great question. For me blogging has helped me realize some of my goals and defined other goals more clearly. I’ve been able to turn blogging from a hobby into an actual job and it’s also opened me to meeting tons of creative and interesting people.

In a strange way it’s also made me more accountable and responsible. Like having a baby; I care for my blog whole heartedly and take pride in how it’s grown while still trying to make it be the best representation of me.

I run a street style blog so I’m constantly forced to go up to people. Some of my best friends were made while bonding over other blogs. Plus who dosen’t like an initial compliment when I ask to take thier picture.

i met my boyfriend through livejournal when we were 17. i didn’t meet him in person until last year, but i decided to move halfway across the country to live with him after graduating from uni.

without blogging, i never would’ve had the chance to meet anyone like him, or most of my art friends. livejournal savveeddd me from bad music and bad art when i was 13 and stuck in an isolated town in west virginia. i could’ve been listening to pop punk through high school.

gross.

=)
