The Week in Pictures: 5.1.09

Perhaps the best designed tags in the universe belong to none other than Cheap Monday clothing. I found the coolest black utilitarian hooded dress while out shopping with a fellow designer friend last night and can’t wait to show you!

You want to know who has the best nail polish colors in the entire universe? None other than Hot Topic. And perhaps best of all, they’re all only $2.99. I’m totally obsessed with this silver at the moment.

If I were to invite you over to dinner, you’d get to admire my super cool candle holder (minus the candles) on the table. Two coats of white spray paint took it from rustic to majorly mod.

I’ve been spending a lot more time in my home office these days, but I don’t mind because I have my shelf of shoes to keep me company. Laugh all you want, but I like my workspace to resemble a boutique.

I finally made it out to The Someday Lounge and it was love at first sight. Besides really cool wood walls and major ambience, the drinks and vegan menu were excellent. Portlanders, give this place a visit!

I so badly want a shoe rack, just so I could admire them. It’s no use having such pretty things stored in dark closets!

The Someday: full vegan menu, eh? I’ll definitely have to check that out. Thanks for the heads up!

aww the deer is cute, have you named him?
Your nails look spiffy! I use to have some silver nail varnish which was rubbish but a year ago i found a really good one by Stargazer, it looks like chrome on nails, but chips kinda easily and just looks crap when it chips, but its fun for a day or 2, makes me feel like Lady Deathstryke and all futuristic

Aunt Samantherrrr: I think you’re referring to The Night Light Lounge where I had an art show a few years back. The Someday is on NW 5th downtown…It’s more of a music venue.
gina marr: Awesome! Almost got that one also….
Ash: Agreed.
Sayward: It’s not all vegan but the stuff that is is totally AMAZING.
Shauna: No name for the deer yet! Haha. I had no idea who Lady Deathstryke was so thanks for sharing!

oh! i love that candle holder.
i’ve been reading your blog for a while now, i just wanted to say that Portland, Oregon is my favourite city in the whole entire world that I have been to.
I love it with all my heart beats!
You are very lucky to live there, I hope to one day also exist within it’s splendour!!! Alas, for now I live in the most isolated city on Earth! (Perth)
Vegetarian treats as far as the eye can see, doggehs, 24 hour amazing donuts (+ vegan ones!), music music music, and wonderous vintage stores.
LOVEEEEEE. Yeah sorry, I guess I’m being a bit creepy so I’ll quit!

Nubby dove, I was also hoping you could tell me what hosting site you use, and whether you use wordpress? I’m looking at this at the moment, I’m sure you may have done a post on this previously so feel free to just link it up if you have:)

annette @ kittentails: That’s so funny that you love Portland! I’ve always lived here (with frequent stays in New York in between) so it doesn’t seem as cool to me. Haha. My boyfriend’s best friends live in Australia (though in Melbourne) so we’ll make it over to your fine country eventually!
For hosting, I use godaddy, com and for the blogging, it’s all WordPress.

Where did you snag your extra big shoe holder display?
The standard ones can’t handle the extra big heels >_<

robin: I got the shelf from West Elm. The best part? It’s on wheels!!! It also comes in a version that’s twice the height.

Lovely post, but my mind keeps coming back to those uh-maaaaz-ing zip back boots. Where did you get them?

It’s funny how the place you grow up never seems as cool to you as it does to others, haha!
It is literally my favourite place. Lotus Vegan Cafe / Yoga place. Do you know it? WOW. I love it!
And I love how the tram thingies have bicycle carriers on the front of them all… when I was there, it was the weekend of the Rose parade and I got some free toothpaste. Weird!
Thanks for site info x
