2009 Identity Pt. 2

On Monday, I posted my new 2009 Identity. Since then, I’ve made some changes and additions.

First off, I simplified the cover sheet, dropping my Nubby Script Logo so that the branding would be more consistent (this was the only piece that contained it). Cover sheets are great when you’re sending rounds of work to a client. The job description, client name and date all help both you and the client stay organized. ‘Cover Sheet’ gets changed to the project name when I am submitting work.

In a perfect world, I’d have a thin cardboard cover for my CDs. There’s already so much black in my Identity that I added the burst of white to liven things up.

Standard-sized envelopes are always nice. Sometimes, you just need them (usually to send invoices and bills). I would include my address on these since I left it off of the letterhead.

Love it! Though… has anyone pointed out yet that it looks WAY EERILY SIMILAR to a certain make-up brand? I feel like I’m looking at one of their ads! :( You’re such an original person, your branding should match!!

Don’t know why the :( got stuck in the middle of that sentence. Unintentional!

These articles are very helpful and inspirational. What’s your take on FAX cover sheets, digital letterheads (MS Word documents/templates)for the purpose of sending digital only documents.

Once the letterheads are printed, do you also provide an MS Word template so that design/branding styles are established and used by the client/self?

You’ve definitely explored more than the typical business card, letterhead and envelope trifecta but branding sure can get expansive.

I look forward to seeing how your brand is applied elsewhere.

Kaz: Thanks!

Diana: Hmmm…which brand are you referring to? Tons of them use black and Helvetica (or a very similar typeface)!

Donna Vitan: I never fax anything, I usually just send PDFs via email with a cover sheet. So I don’t really have any advice in that area. And I don’t use the MS suite at all- I usually use InDesign in place of Word. Sorry I can’t be of more help!

I really like it. It’s interesting to see how these things come together :)

I think Diana means Nars? Either that or MAC, but I’m inclined to go with the former.
