1. As many of us have suspected, websites feed fast fashion inspiration. If you’re posting pictures of your outfits online, chances are that you’re being watched. “We do use street fashion Web sites for inspiration and as one source of information,” said Celestino Garcia, coordinator for Mango’s design department in Barcelona. “Part of our design team researches blogs and online fashion sites daily. We must be up to date with what is going on in the streets of each market.” (via bits and bobbins)

2. How to NOT get hired for a blogging job: Write in no caps. Haha!

3. You guessed it, Scanwiches is a site dedicated to…scanned sandwiches!

4. Check out this video, Sex, Lies and Photoshop to get the down-low on how much retouching really goes on at magazines. It’s pretty shocking when not even models can live up to their enhanced images.

5. Remembering 10 failed rapper lines is pretty funny. Just because.

6. Market Publique is an online marketplace of vintage fashion where users can both buy and sell with much lower fees than Ebay.

7. Different Ways To Think About Money is a great exercise in changing your mindset about money and the comments are just as fascinating. People have really passionate opinions about cash and bills!

8. Would you wear split-toe shoes? Hell yes, but for me, the weirder the shoes, the better!

9. The carbon Black Card is just what you need in these dire economic times. Totally ridiculous, if you ask me.

I have only ever seen Japanese construction workers wearing canvas split-toes with rubber soles, but those leather ones are pretty damn chic, albeit slightly reminiscent of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ feet.

Bridget: The whole hoof shoe concept is pretty ridiculous from an aesthetics point of view, but I think that’s why I love it! Plus, Margiela can do no wrong….

Yeah, the photoshop thing.A lot of fashion “photography” is more like digital illustration- which is fine if “digital illustration” is what it’s intended to be (I love bizarre fashion spreads)- but when it is used excessively to make a model look thinner or what-not…it kind of irks me a bit. Plus I don’t see why they need to look so “perfect”. Of course magazines want to display attractive people, but a bit of “realness” from time to time can still be attractive, surely?!
Meh. I guess there’s nothing really I can do about that!

Hmmmmm the split toe shoe…. it is definitely unusual and interesting from an aesthetic perspective, but my juvenile self just cannot help but think of “camel toe”. I know they’re down on the feet, but… my mind just can’t separate itself from the yukky analogy!

Wow. I just realised how pervy and smutty my shoe comment makes me sound. I don’t know why!
I’m sick, sick. Give me medicine. O_o
