I like Helvetica, and find it almost 100% aesthetically pleasing, but can I be anal and say that I find the letter A in the font is quite different to all the other letters, as the shape of the tail does not end in a block (like the fullstop, the bottom tail of the y, the bottom tail of the u etc.
I always wondered why there was that inconsistency.
perhaps as a designer you can shed some light on that?

I like Helvetica, though I think it’s overused at times. Last year, when I went to NYC in March, I went to the MoMA and it turns out that they had a special exhibit on typography. I was thrilled!

And I think I have you to blame for getting my first moleskine…I got the Helvetica one. :)

I like Helvetica… though sometimes the weighting makes it seem like some letters (i’s j’s and l’s) sit closer to other letters – making it not quite evenly spaced. Am I nuts, or is it truly weighted that way?

I wish the typeface weren’t so over-used in corporate marketing (the Helvetica documentary paints it as a “faceless corporate typeface”). That documentary was awesome.

I adore Helvetica. However, I am an architecture student in Scotland, and was recently working on a group project, and when we sat down to agree on a common font to use I suggested Helvetica only to be met by gales of laughter from my male colleagues! Why would this be?! What’s so funny about it?? (We used it in the end; I like to get my own way!)

aren’t the quotes specifically from massimo vignelli? i just watched the documentary today in my art studies class and it was quite awesome. very insightful with an okay soundtrack. ;)

Helvetica is a classic. It will always be used. I think that veer handled this project in a very interesting way. But I think there are some other san serif typefaces that can provide a fresh approach to a project. Like Avenir for example.
