The Week in Pictures: 2.13.08

Happy Friday the 13th!

Last Friday, my Aunt picked up a lips phone from Urban Outfitters and hand delivered it to me. Embarrassingly enough, I don’t have a land line so I can’t actually use it, but that hasn’t stopped me from pretending to make calls!

Nemo hosted Danielle Levitt’s photography opening last week and there’s nothing better than finishing up my work for the day, walking through the office doors and being greeted by friends, family and a roaring party! There were even performances by a high school dance troupe and marching band! Imagine my delight when the band broke into a Journey song…how did they know?!

Anthropologie made my day when I discovered these numerical tea cups. Cute, huh?

This is totally unrelated, but I like storing my pencils in test tubes from IKEA. Unlike normal pencil cups, you can see what you have and it’s fun to have multiple test tubes of different writing utensils lined up…

This is corner of my desk at work…the side of my computer tower is covered with my some of my favorite graphics and design projects.

Yesterday, I booked a last-minute trip to Hawaii. Less than two weeks till sun and sand! Lee & I will be staying nearby by where I took this picture two years ago. Can’t wait!!
How was your week?

I did NOT know Ikea had test tubes. It’d be great if they had a set of lab glassware to use as kitchen implements.
The numerical teacups are swank!

I still have the test tube spice rack that your Mom gave me. Now I’m going to get some of these test tubes on my next Ikea run. What are you doing on Sunday?

Yes Happy Friday the 13th! I’m quite paraskavedekatriaphobic but this morning went fine then the day got even better when i came home and found that my Nubby Bodoni shirt had arrived in the mail, woohoo! I’ve been checking the mail box with anticipation for the past few days hehe. It’s really cool, my housemate likes it too. Thank you, can’t wait to wear it
Oh and it’s nice to see your business card in tangible form, mmm it’s nice.
The lips phone/red boots photo is cool, i like the floor! and the phone.. and the boots… ^_^
That 31 teacup is really cute too! Did you choose that number for a particular reason, or was there just a select few numbers?

tricia: I remember seeing your Hawaii pix on Flickr! We never stay at fancy hotels either…it’s so nice out (and the happy hours all over town are so good) that I never stay in the room much anyway. Hawaii is the perfect fantasy getaway, partially since no passport, knowledge of a foreign language or other currencies are needed!!
Auntie Nubs: Reworking some shirt designs….why, what are you doing?! I can modify my plans quite easily.
Ally: Did they have a lips phone? Haven’t seen that show in like 15 yrs!
Shauna: Glad that your order arrived safely and the teacups had totally random numbers….random in that Anthropologie sorta way.

Hi there Nubby! Just wanted to say that I have been frequenting your site for awhile and you are inspiration to me. I always wanted to be a graphic designer and wanted to go to school for quite sometime, I am saving up to go to Academy of Arts San Francisco. Anyway, I live in Hawaii, and there’s a lot of cool japanese shops in Waikiki and places that you might be interested in. I’ll give you a list if you want.
Take care and thanks for being an inspiration!!

“perfect match” indeed!!
I have a similar issue with owning an amazing phone but not having a land line!
I discovered that it’s possible to connect your landline network to your cell phone – using gadgets like the ‘Dock N Talk’.
They’re a bit expensive, but it might be worth it!!

janis: Cool! I’d love to know where else to go besides the standard tourist stuff…if I have time, I’ll drop you an email.
Cat: Thanks for the heads up!
Gina: My boyfriend of 4 yrs…I dont think that counts as a boy toy.
