The Week in Pictures: 1.16.09
This has been a really quiet week, which is a very welcome change. I’ve been catching up on both work and sleep because things are about to get crazy again!
Last Friday, I tagged along with a bunch of Nemoites to design intern Tyler’s portfolio day at the Art Institute. Wow, that building is fancy! Once I walked up to his booth, it became apparent that I matched it a little too well. Either way, his portfolio was really, really good and has inspired me to rework my own.
I spent my free time this week pulling some new merch together. Look for this Bodoni design popping up on shirts next week! There is no deeper meaning…I just have a major obsession with the typeface. Look at those curves!
Fashion-wise, I’ve been leaning towards basic black everything, especially accessories. I’ve realized that they can anchor even the silliest, kookiest looks!
Still on the black bandwagon, I finally caved and got a pair of super shiny black leggings. They are deceptively simple, yet still have a fetish-y, futuristic element to them. Hello, android!

I love those leggings. I’ve been wanting them for a while, but am at a loss as to what to wear them with. Would they look good with anything other than heels? Who knows! Anyway, these photographs are amazing–So clean and streamlined!

Beka: Probably heels, mostly…but some girls have a way of pulling off almost anything!
Sammy: I feel like they’re overly trendy right now, but they’re also a cool take on a basic necessity. I’m sure you’ll style them into an awesome look.

Sarah: Just something plain and black, like a t-shirt with a simple, drapey sweater over the top. The wedges are from Fall 07, so at this point they’re pretty hard to find. They barely even come up on Ebay anymore.
