What I Wore: 1.4.09

What I wore:
Sweater, Banana Republic (thrifted)
2 Necklace, Alex + Chloe
Jeans, Kill City
Wedges, Dries Van Noten
Purse, Miu Miu
MAC Stomp & Crystal Avalanche eye shadows, Pearlglide eye liner in Black Russian and Zoom Lash in Zoom Black
I think that it’s important to dress how you feel. Lately I’ve been leaning towards wanting to be more classic and timeless. Not boring, but in simple shapes and colors paired with awesome shoes.

#2? You’re always #1 in my eyes. Call me this morning and we’ll talk boots. I am surrounded by a plethora of boots…..

….oh, and I love that color on you!

Those shoes are to die for! Especially in combination with the b/w jeans.
I feel the same about dressing simple but not boring, it’s always important to add a little special something.

I like your number necklace.

And those are, indeed, awesome shoes.

being clasic in no way ever has to mean boring. i.e. theres about a billion ways to rock a plain white shirt! i do simple items in a bright color orprint or with extravagant texture and pleating — or vice versa.
from your ourfit posts i think theres no way you’d ever veer into boring. classic – yes, snooze – no.
i second the motion on the shoes = awesome

Nubby what color is your lipstick? It is the perfect bright color for more olive skin.

No two ways about it, I love that outfit. Normally I hate turtlenecks on everyone, but that one seems to work quite well for you.

Melanie: Thank you! I wish there were other typography based pieces to choose from. For some reason, a 2 was the only option!
Laura: A dab of Loreal British Red.
Kelly: I don’t own any turtlenecks! Do you mean crewneck? It’s just a standard sweater.

Hey, Nubs.
Lately, I’ve been wanting to dress a la 1930s-1940s. I’ve been tying my hair up in scarves and putting it into fingerwaves, at least until it’s long enough for me to curl it like Marilyn, and I just found these FABULOUS heels on sale at Target that were very 1940s. Mmmmmmm. PENCIL SKIRTS. [Also, my new favorite movie is Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day.]
I’m a burlesque dancer, so I think I just want to dress like the women who stripped before me!
Love,
Kate

annie: Yours has gotten super long….so pretty!
Bex: I know, I know….the gray ones seem to constantly pop up while these get unfair treatment.
Kate: Nothing beats that classic glamour!
