When it snows, I have the best footprints around! I got custom Vibram treads put on these boots back in 2005 by my favorite NYC cobbler and they have served me well!

ARCTIC BLAST 2008!!! (according to the local news stations) has been fun. Portland normally doesn’t get snow before Christmas. And, since I’ll be spending the holidays in Phoenix, it’s been nice enjoying the near constant dusting of white powder. The storm hit us hard this weekend and it was fun roaming through Downtown, which looked like a ghost town.

It’s been so consistently cold that I finally pulled out my red leather insulated gloves. They’re GAP circa 2004 and super cozy. There’s nothing like a burst of color to brighten boring black winter clothes up!

I’m still a bit obsessed with these oddly cool red glasses. Not obsessed enough to get lenses put in and wear them out in public, but you know…

I’ve been working on my updated PDF portfolio over the last few weeks and my goal is to have it ready for download sometime in January. Productivity rules!

I’m getting some red leather gloves for christmas and they can’t come soon enough! They’ll be great for driving and feeling snuggly and insulated. I wish we had snow in england :(

What the above poster said – I envy you your snow! I’ve lost one of my beautiful red gloves, the other is sitting on my desk at the moment looking lonely. The side-effects of moving house in the summer!

I’m a long time reader, first time poster, even though I follow you on twitter and love everything you post. My week was good. I live a little out of Seattle here in Washington and we got hit too. The snow is everywhere, and its so beautiful. Stay safe!

I had my last day of Fine Art in 2008 which was memorable. I also went to a tea party complete with cake stands, tea pots and vegan cake, fell in love with a new wine, danced to nu-metal in a club with a sticky floor and bashed in to the boys who were creating a mini-pathetic mosh pit. If I’m ever rich enough to own a good camera, I will document things more.

Well, we had some weather too. Snow and then last night freezing rain, but then it warmed up enough that everything melted off the roads. Weirdness.

Work is busy but not in a fun way.

Got a call back for a second interview for a job I am interested in and excited about.

Went to a holiday party for the magazine I freelance design for and had fun and heard good news.

Contacted a copywriter who I will hopefully get to work with to build the advertising side of my book, and his too.

Found out I get the day after Christmas off to spend with my family. Yessssssss

The sun is out, and it’s Friday. Yay!

I, too am an Oregonian and couldn’t be loving this snow more. Everything is so still, and I love how unprepared our state is for the snow. Snow forces all of us to relax since getting around becomes such a struggle.
Plus snow clothes are among the cutest.

  7. Nubby says:

Helen: For some reason, I thought you did get snow! Oh well, at least you’ll have cute gloves!

Caitlin Marie: I’ve been seeing Seattle on the news and it sounds like you got hit pretty hard! And thanks for reading.

dana: Good for you for getting out there and networking! It sounds like it’s majorly paying off.

annie: Aww, you always leave the cutest comments! I love you!

Kaffy: Wow! That must really be like a storybook winter wonderland…

Billy: I totally agree. It’s been pretty awesome (and it isn’t even over yet)!

Mona: My dad distributes prescription safety eyewear and when he hands over new display frames to doctors, he’ll sometimes clear out the old ones and take them with him! Major score…
