I am a 19-year old philosophy major with an owl tattoo covering most of the right side of my torso. My septum and nipples are both pierced. I guess I kind of like pain? Except not really, I just think the intensity of it is invigorating.

I’m not all that unique actually. I wouldn’t be at all surprised to find out that I’m actually a dime a dozen.

Then again…there are few female philosophers.

when i was a really young kid, i used to imitate Michael Jackson’s dance moves (but i am no where near a dancer, or coordinated, or anything like that). i had a glittery glove and a toy microphone and a huge life-sized cardboard stand up poster of him in my room. his head fell off from moving it around so much, or i’d still have it. i think it’s cool that you openly adore him.

1. People call me a redhead, but really, I’m an auburn-head.

2. I win contests only when I absentmindedly enter them, without the intent to win.

3. My favorite clothes are all impulse buys that I’ve forced myself to wait two weeks (or longer!) before getting.

4. I always wear two rings. Sometimes more, but never less.

5. My favorite color changes often. The color I hate the most is stagnant at dull pink (The color of Salmon which, coincidentally, I also do not like.)

6. Victorian women inspire me.

7. I cannot write a happy ending to save my life.

8. My friends go to me for advice on pretty much everything.

9. I do not like wearing socks with shoes.

10. I sleep with stuffed animals every night given to me by my parents and significant other.

1. I moved to Portland having never visited there before.
2. I got to meet Nubby, on a rainy Portland day
3. I lived in Portland for less than 4 months
4. I have only been to four states in the USA BUT nearly every country in Europe (yes even the tiny little ones)
5. I wanted to be an actress when I grew up, when I had my son I stopped trying
6. When I look at a catalog I will invent a whole other life and shop for the me I just invented
7. I spoke three languages at the same time as a toddler learning to speak
8. I have had two serious stalkers in my life, neither was an ex-bf BUT just some random weirdo
9. I use to hate my toes so badly that I didn’t wear a pair of open toe shoes until I was nearly out of high school.
10. I have a very unique thrift store shirt that I have owned forever. When I was gifted the Sex and the City DVD set, I noticed that Carrie is wearing the same shirt in season 1 there is no mistaking it….its the same shirt!! I wish I knew someone who cared how excited I felt when I realized it.

* I speak 3 languages and am learning a 4th one as well as learning old english and middle high german for my studies, as well as having learnt latin (doesn’t count as a language in my book). as a result of this I’m horribly scatterbrained. when I read old english out loud, I read the “Y”s as “U”s, cause they are “U”s in the cyrillic alphabet. when I transcribe english to IPA, I use cyrillic “L”s. when I can’t remember the russian dative plural ending, I use the french one. I use the french personal pronouns instead of the russian ones. and when I can’t come up with the french verb flexion, I use latin. the only language I still speak pretty clearly and hardly ever really mess up is english. but my native language is german.

* but still, my goal is to speak 6 languages one day. on top of german, english, russian and french, I want to learn czech and either italian or chinese. I hear the chinese grammar is simple as hell. that’d be nice for a change.

* I have a red dot under my eye. I have no idea what it is.

* I can’t tie bows or whistle. the whistling bothers me more.

* I’m a vegetarian who lost her virginity to a butcher.

* I have a fetish with veins. especially on arms.

* my other fetish are collarbones.

* my hair and fingernails grow abnormally fast. my hair is below my butt, and I’m 5’10″.

When I was little, my Dad was learning french so I learned to count to 100 in French before I could do it in English

I buy piles of old encyclopedias from second hand stores and collect the pictures for my collages
