Black & White Graphic Insight: DOA

DOA, 2008
Collage and resin on wood
13.5 x 9.5 inches
I originally intended to show this piece last month at my solo show, but ran behind schedule. Better late than never! This series is offically closed; I’m in the planning stages for a new body of very colorful work that will ramp up early next year!

One day I will have to purchase a piece from you, I love these and they’d fit in with my planned interiors when I eventually buy my own place perfectly!

I don’t know where you get the time to make these, in between Nemo, blogging, shopping & outfit photos, but go you! I’d love to see some photos or perhaps even a video, of a ‘behind the scenes’ kind of thing when you make them. Just some shots of your workspace & work in progress or something. I think it’d be fab! x

Vixel: Aww, thank you very much!
Aimee Marie: That’s a great idea, comments like this definitely give me ideas for future posts so thank you for the input.

Yeah Aimee’s idea is great. I would love to see where you work on your art because the photos you show of your home office make it look so clean and organized. Is the area you work on your art the same?
Also, I am excited to see what colors you will use, since I know your favorites are red and green

I think I’ve never commented your blog before, but I’ve been reading it all the way from the start. I have to say I love how you have a consistent Nubby-style in everything you do. That’s why I wanted to give you an award that’s been going around the blogs. It’s in my blog. You really deserve it!

Nubby: No problem!

Hello Nubby!
I am interested in knowing how to apply your resin, do you pour yours on or prefer to brush it? I make jewelry with a resin coating and I like to pour the resin in the middle and push it out twoards the edges, but I was always curious how you did yours.

popsu: Thanks for the mention!
Heather: I also pour, then smooth to the edges. After it’s began to settle, I go around the edges with a brush.

awesome! Thanks for answering, I like to see how other people work with resin:)

I agree with popsu, you are the only blogger i read who is consistently interesting and relevant, constantly changing, but never losing your individual style and signature.
