The Week in Pictures: 10.31.08

A few days ago, I had a really late night at work but when I came home, I was surprised with this! Lee’s family was in town all week and his mom made a MASSIVE apple pie. (I secretly love having so many heart-shaped dishes and baking pans. Heart-shaped food makes everything better!!!)

Heehee, I made some new friends this week…and their names are Marni!

I’d been lusting after some wedges from the Spring 2008 collection for awhile and when a pair came up in my size on Ebay for a total steal, I jumped in! They’re literally like sculptures. In case you were wondering, they’re not easy to walk in, but they sure are beautiful to look at!

This is totally random, but if you’ve never been to Portland, one of the first things that you see when entering downtown is this massive purple monstrosity! It never seems to die. You think it would get popped, but it’s probably immortal.

One of the packages I received this week was from my Virgo soulmate, Gala Darling and it contained not only a cute letter of all the reasons why we’re a perfect match, but a GLITTER GLOVE! She’s one of the only people who understands my undying love for Michael Jackson.

I had the best latte today while dining on waffles with my friend Erin. We’ve known each other the longest out of all of all of my friends (BFF’s since 1996, baby!) so we share a very special bond.

Isn’t she adorable?!

I guess I should mention what else I’ve been up to. Nemo is having an insane Halloween party tonight (I say INSANE and mean it because over 1,500 people have RSPVed!) and we’ve been decorating for the last two days. It looks amazing!
And, with that, I am off to change into my costume!
Happy Halloween, everyone!
What’s your costume going to be this year?

Sadly this is the first year ever I think that I won’t be dressing up. I’m really sick & really pregnant which doesn’t make for a fun combination for Hallowe’en festivities — I hope the Nemo party is fab!

Weee! I love Marni Wedges, they are so distinctively beautiful, yet the design isn’t all OTT. I was going to be Catwoman for Halloween, but I couldn’t find a mask, only cat ears. It’s not a big holiday here in Ozland.

That latte photo has convinced me to take a break and power up the coffee machine. I went to a Halloween party last night as Amy Winehouse, there’s a couple of photos here: http://sparkleandglitter.wordpress.com/2008/10/31/they-tried-to-make-me-go-to-rehab/

NUBBY! Those shoes are gorgeous – I do love how you put them on display – honouring the art they are! Erin looks like a lovely human – you must share where those latte/waffles are from – to more effectivley help me plan my trip to Portland which revolves around eating (mostly).
For Halloween, I helped to host a community party for some 15-18 year olds – we had scary cupcakes and haunted dip and it made me realize no matter what age we are (attendees ended up being 10 – 48) it is still an amazing chance to have a great time!
i am feeling inspired by those heart shaped pans – i may put some of those on my Christmas list – imagine heart shaped mac and cheese!?
(this is quite an extensive post for my first time out of lurking – but I LOVE this blog!

That beautiful latte reminds me of my summer trip to Portland. I stayed in the Ace Hotel and drank two, maybe three of those things every day. I loved it there!
