The Week in Pictures: 7/4/08

This week has been the best I’ve had all year. Read on to see why!

The temperature was near 100 degrees on Saturday, so I begged Lee to take out for ice cream at Ben & Jerry’s. From the looks of my recent posts, it appears that all I ever eat are waffles and ice cream!

I found these melamine leaf print plates for a steal at Pottery Barn; four for less than $10.00! Love them!

On Tuesday, I received a surprise visit at work from Smokey. I complemented him on his cool turquoise bike, which turned out not to be his! Silly Smokey.

Wednesday was another sweltering day and it seemed like half of the office was on vacation (or were acting like vacation had already started)! I helped myself to a ‘treat’ out of the cooler, only to realize that twist tops are not as easy to open as they appear! This is definitely in the top 10 most ridiculous photos I’ve ever taken. Hahaaaa.

I headed straight from Nemo to my art opening at Vino Paradiso On Wednesday night and was amazed at how well the curator hung my show. It’s always such a relief! It was really awesome to be surrounded by all of my favorite people. My dad, aunt, Lee, ex-coworkers, Nemo-ites and Lee’s friends came by to check out my show. For a holiday weekend, it was an impressive turnout!

My ex ‘work husband’ Brent also joined me for the festivities. Him and Lee are like a tag team; one of them is always babysitting me and keeping me out of trouble!

Topping off the perfect night was the gift of these amazing vintage sunglasses from Auntie. Totally wacky!

This morning, I landed in New York and after a brief stop at Bianca’s to drop off my big red suitcase, I met my blogging crush, Gala Darling for an afternoon of hugging jumbo ice cream cones and searching out taxidermy. Seriously. So awesome!

Tonight, I’m joining some friends for watching fireworks from a rooftop and a top secret party. More later!
