For the Love of Miu Miu!

The Miu Miu brand began in 1992 and the collection is titled after fashion designer Miuccia Prada’s nickname. I fist discovered Miu Miu in the late 90s when I began reading fashion magazines. The whimsical, rounded logo was immediately appealing and the prim schoolgirl / lolita looks that sometimes bordered on looking like uniforms were right in line with my aesthetic.

Late last year, I purchased my first Miu Miu purse and fell in love with the beautiful craftsmanship and simple styling. I was hooked! Finally, a few weeks ago I got a Vitello Lux model (also known as the ‘bow bag’) because it is massive (about 13 inches across), classic in style and expands with ease (the flap flips upward). It’s perfect for everyday use and as a carry-on for traveling. Additionally, the combination of both handles and a shoulder strap add to the versatility.

It goes without saying that Kris Atomic’s photo of the Vitello Lux is way better! On a funnier note, Lee thinks that when the flap is up, my purse looks like a monster with gold teeth:

Awww, it looks like it’s smiling.
It’s such a great bag. I really want a Vitello Twist, I love that bag so much!

popartpistol: Ooh, haven’t seen the Vitello Twist yet! Sounds like the name of a super special pastry!

Dayna Desastre: Thanks! It’s not intentional, though…some items were gifts, some things I’ve had for years! But those colors seem to be a running theme in my life. ;)

*drool*!!!

Miu Miu bags are so beautiful, and I hope that one day I will be as successful as you so maybe I can own one and experience it in all its splendor!

And that “monster” picture is so silly :)

I can see the “monster”. Though any monster made out of such fine craftsmanship should not be feared.

I love deceptively big bags.. though not really into leather…that last picture of the ‘miu miu monster’ makes me giggle lots though.

How strange… I just stumbled across your blog from galadarling.com. I saw this on flickr the other day— your bag is so gorgeous and I love that everything is colour-coded! That’s the second time this week I’ve seen someone’s bag on there and come across their blog a few days later!
