The Week in Pictures: 6/13/08

The highlight of my week was getting a theme together for my new dual monitor setup. Well, not really, but there’s other things that I can’t talk about yet! It’s been a week since I finished school and I still feel like I can’t get off the nonstop treadmill that is my life. I have three weeks to get ready for my solo art show (details coming very soon) and then I am taking a mini 10 day vacation!

On Wednesday night, I went to a cool little event at Office that was a panel discussion about women in business and marketing. I drug Lee along and he sat with me in the audience all quiet and patient in a sea full of women! Awww.

Immediately afterwards, he snapped this photo of me against a mural in N.E. Portland. I wore an Old Navy cardigan, Alex+Chloe necklace, H&M skirt from about five years ago, American Apparel leggings, Dries Van Noten boots and a Miu Miu purse. Did I mention that I adore mixing the cheapest of the cheap with designer pieces? It’s so much more fun that way!

Are you noticing a theme during these posts? There’s usually some idle time during my wait for the morning bus to Nemo so here’s the cliché shoes picture you’ve come to expect!

Yesterday was wonderful. I met up with my best friend from the high school years, Erin. I guess it’s been ten years since we’ve met now! She’s starting an apparel and textile business so I helped her develop a company name and identity over waffles. I’m loving the prospect of catching up with all of my old friends this summer now that I’ll have more free time.

I spotted this heart on my way to the bus stop this morning. The sun is shining, life is good.
Do you have any big plans for this weekend?

Those waffles always look so great! It inspires me to be creative with breakfast foods.
And that pink heart! Glee! What a lovely thing to see.

Wow, those waffles look absolutely delicious! I think that it’s a crime that waffles aren’t more popular in Australia – practically nowhere sells them D:
And I totally understand what you mean about life feeling like one big treadmill. I’ve gone wham from doing my final production for my theatre major, to two weeks worth of exams and assignments – and I’ve still got a part-time job, and work for an internship that I have to do!
I love the wall mural by the way.
I just can’t wait to have a break!

Nubby~ To the best of my knowledge, I could count on one hand the amount of times I’ve seen waffles on a breakfast menu! It’s tragic!

Can you tell me the name of the font used as your monitors’ backgrounds? It looks PERFECT for a couple projects I’m planning out right now. Thanks!

Tanie: It was an image I found so I’m not sure. Some close typefaces to try are Carousel, Didot and Stila.
