Home Office Tour!
As many of you know, I moved back in December (Christmas Eve!) and since then, I’ve been organizing and putting together my home office headquarters. This is the first time I’ve had a real office that wasn’t doubling as my bedroom. It’s pretty much together now, so I thought I’d share!

This is the main desk area; the walls have white wainscoting halfway up and the rest is painted a pale green. It’s a calming change from previous rooms that were blaring red! The portrait was a gift from my brother and this is the red cross above my desk.

I love these mod little pod shelves; they’re by CB2 (though I think they’re discontinued).

I use the top of my bookshelf to store jewelry and display knick-knacks. It’s by West Elm and I highly recommend it because it’s on wheels (!) and makes moving and cleaning super easy.

That’s Twiggy. She’s usually at my art shows, wearing the latest Nubbytwiglet.com merch. Conveniently enough, we’re the same clothing size (though she’s way taller)!

My T.V. is oddly space age; it has a transparent red shell that comes down over the screen, almost like a helmet! It was a special edition by Magnavox for Target about five years ago. The screen isn’t very good, which doesn’t bother me since I’m usually working (not watching)!

The inspiration board is always overflowing. It’s covered in what you’d expect- Steve Perry, hearts, and red lips!

There’s a little baroque mirror set up in the window sill next to my desk to put on makeup. I’ve had those red cross glasses for years, so I decided to put them to use.

I hope you enjoyed the mini tour! Looking at these photos, you’re probably assuming that I’m a color-coordinated obsessive compulsive freak. Really, most of this stuff has been accumulating over the last five years and I’m very particular about what I buy.
Generally, I try not to have any division between myself, my living space, and my art and design. It’s all one big constant to me and the same colors and themes carry through everything. Life is a lot easier that way!

That’s seriously gorgeous – I like the “obsessive-compulsive” air of it, actually. I love the sparseness of the black and white and the jolts of colour.

I would volunteer to be locked in that room 8 hours a day if it was my office! I love the make-up storage idea.

Can I just say that your blog is not only very inspirational but informative? I usually visit from work and I love reading and seeing all your trinkets that you put together so nicely for our viewing pleasures.
Thanks for giving me something useful to do during my corporate work hours ♥

Thanks everyone!!
jillian: I bought some cabinets at Target that had semi-opaque plastic windows. Since you could slightly see through them, I took an old ad out of a Swatch watches catalog, scanned it and taped in to the inside of the door. I’ll scan it someday…
Sarah: Thanks! I stumbled upon the mirror years ago at Target- it’s carved wood and quite heavy!
Julia: Aww, thanks for visiting! I often spend work hours scanning through blogs, also.
