The Bold & the Beautiful.

I love the simplicity of these book covers. Bold, clean design is always so classic! Also, I just found a rug for my kitchen in the ‘new’ section of Goodwill (which seems a bit ironic!) and I love it. These days, I’m feeling inspired by clean lines, bold colors, and design that gets the information across in as little detail as possible.

What’s inspiring you these days?

Actually, Nubs, YOU’VE been inspiring to me lately!

As have small details, origami, old brooches/victorian-style jewelry, cameos, mid-calf pencil skirts, and Brigette Bardot.

xoxo.

amazing cover designs and great reminder that eye-catching design isn’t always the most fussy!

I love those book covers! And the rug too… right now i feel inspired by hand-drawn birthday cards, original artwork on Deviant art and gold leaf picture frames.

bianca: thanks so much for that link– I just favorited a bunch of those. YUM!

Miss Elle: Aww, thank you! Cameos are beautiful. I wish a designer would whip some up in really bright colors instead of ivory…

Casey: I tend to prefer really classic, simple graphic design from the 60s and 70s before the world went crazy for gradients and a gazillion layers. I think the most effective design gets the point across without the need to add extra details in ‘just because’….

pinkrock: Yay for gold leaf picture frames! Anything baroque is awesome.

Things that inspire me? You, Gala, my wonderful classes, new music, bright-obnoxious hair color as well as muted natural hair color, dreams

Jami: Classes when you like them can have such a positive impact! I find some of my design classes seeping into my everyday life…

And, bright, obnoxious hair is a blast- until it starts to stain everything it comes in contact with! I still have the remnants of bright hair from years ago stained inside shirt collars and on towels.
