The Matador Photobooth

Last night, I went out to The Matador with a bunch of folks including Mistina and Eliza. I was so excited to spot an original black and white photobooth- there’s something so classic about the photo strips that come out of these! I forgot that the strips come out sopping wet and take awhile to dry, so a few got smeared. As you can see, we had a great time…except for when a guy came over and yelled at us because we were “blinding him.” We had forgotten to close the photobooth curtain!

IKEA Magazine Files: A Lesson in Affordable Sustainability

There’s nothing worse than a cluttered office! I’ll be the first to admit, I’m a neat-freak Virgo. While recently perusing the organization department of the new IKEA in Portland in search of magazine files, I came across a five-pack of these by FLYT for $2.99. Since I was taking public transportation to get home, their compact packaging (a thin layer of plastic wrapping) was a definite selling point, not to mention they’re easy to put together and also flatten for easy recycling. These are perfect for people on the move and their smooth surface is begging for impromptu doodles and collages!

Neu Jacke

I was on the hunt for some remaining Halloween costume gear today when I found a huge stash of vintage marching band jackets. (See above– I feel a combination of super mod with a dash of Michael Jackson when I wear it!) Anyway, I knew my brother would want one, but I was in a hurry and forgot to call him. A few hours later, I’m laying in bed, fighting off a cold when he calls telling me, “I’m at a thrift store and they have a ton of cool marching band jackets!” I was like, “Yeah…I know, I’m wearing one of them.” This kind of stuff happens all the time.
