New York: Brooklyn Butter Dish

One of my favorite stores in New York City, FISHS EDDY on 19th and Broadway specializes in “American sturdyware,” dishware from diners and restaurants across the country as well as new lines from various designers. I have collected vintage dishes for years; when I recently visited, this place was a haven! I bought some airline flatware and this Brooklyn butter dish by Jordan Awan to use as a mini piece of art. I am using a small collectors plate stand to display it. There’s a full line of Brooklyn pieces here.

I have mine on display as well, and I love it! I received a new email from Fishs Eddy, and they had colored bowls. Last week they had the letter mugs on sale. I still want the giant glove mold….I just need a spare $400.

Yes– those hand molds are spendy, but totally a piece of art! I’d love to have a whole collection of different sizes…
