Actually my above statement relates more to procrastination than a creative block, though they can be profoundly intertwined. Nubby says that worry and anxiety just make things worse. And so does self deprecation, like calling yourself a spoiled sulking brat. (In my case that was true, but I was calling myself much much worse). I will end my comment here with a quote from Little Joe
(Native American Shaman) "Worrying is praying for what you don't want".

I am saying this to myself, in hopes I will listen. Stop this self pity you spoiled sulking brat. You don't have to feel good, it doesn't have to be enjoyable, JUST DO IT.
Two popular slogans come to mind: "90% of life is just showing up" & "Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration". I haven't painted in 5 days, but I am going to sign off here and just show up at the canvas. Almost always, after a couple of hours work I start to enjoy it and I don't want to stop. Thanks Nubby for your help. I could especially relate to #5, reminds me of that line "How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time."

So my advice to anyone is get off the computer right now!! Go and get started right NOW!! Even if you only have 15 min or a half hr. Even if all you do is clean up your work space or your brushes and palette, it is like starting to move a great big heavy locomotive which will soon gain great momentum and energy. Sloth and inertia will be as foreign to you as the night is to the day.

Excercising is also helpful; especially when you run outside. It clears your mind and the scenery is inspiring.

This was extremely helpful! I find that listening to my favorite music is a great stimulant for different emotions that also contribute great ideas for art. :)
